The ‘warm’ vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 is being developed in India by the Bengaluru-based Mynvax Laboratories, a company nurtured at the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore is a unique creation. The vaccine can be stored at 37 degrees for four weeks and 100 degrees for up to 90 minutes without any loss of its structural and functional properties. According to the study published in the peer-reviewed journal Viruses; the vaccine is reported to have produced a significant number of antibodies in mouse trials against prevalent variants of the coronavirus.

All the market available vaccines were developed against the Wuhan strain of coronavirus while the prevailing viruses at the present have significantly evolved to annex the immune system. The joint studies conducted by the researchers at Mynvax and Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Organisation have reported a 14.4 and 16. 5-fold reduction in neutralization against BA.1.1 for the three-monomeric and three-trimeric antigen-adjuvant respectively compared to the wild type of the virus.

The results presented are vouched to be fit for human trials. In the last two years, 4.4 billion of the global population have been fully vaccinated while the other hand, several third world countries are still receiving their first jabs. Some of these countries are poorly equipped with cold storage facilities, Mynvax adds that their vaccine, their vaccine-related issues can be easily resolved.
